Comandos de Salvamento is maintaining the alert system due to the continued rains expected this weekend, according to MARN authorities.

Comandos de Salvamento volunteers arrived on Friday afternoon at Comunidad Los Ángeles in Cantón Los Marranitos, Zacatecoluca, where the water had already flooded several homes, endangering the lives of residents.

The Protección Civil Commission of Zacatecoluca inspected the area and made temporary shelters available to the affected families.

Comandos de Salvamento is keeping all its branches on alert, since the effects of Tropical Storm Nate will continue affecting the country throughout the weekend, which could cause more damage than the country has already suffered and has left nearly 8 people dead.

The rains have also caused a series of traffic accidents on different roads throughout the country, injuring a significant number of people who have been admitted to medical centers.
