At a press conference, members of the Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador made an urgent appeal to the Deputies of the Legislative Assembly to reinstate more than 95 thousand dollars that were cut over the last three years and that have placed the institution in serious difficulty in carrying out its work properly.
Until 2017, Comandos de Salvamento received financial support as a budget allocation through the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance; however, unexpectedly, for fiscal year 2018, more than 95 thousand dollars were cut, which has greatly affected the finances of the emergency-services organization.
On multiple occasions, support has been sought from the various legislative caucuses and from the heads of Public Health, in order to find a way to recover the budget cut. However, despite recommendations to the Minister of Finance, which have been pursued and supported by the Deputies, no response has yet been received.
The legislators who make up the Finance and Special Budget Committee will receive a delegation from Comandos de Salvamento so that it may present the series of needs it faces as a result of the budget cut it suffered three years ago and whose amount will remain at the current level for the next fiscal year.
In light of this, Comandos de Salvamento hopes that the Deputies can make an additional effort to level or increase the budget for 2020.

Comandos de Salvamento will ask the Deputies of the Finance Committee for support to recover the budget cut.
