Comandos de Salvamento conducted a simulation this Monday morning involving people injured by fireworks, with the aim of raising awareness among the population about moderating the use of pyrotechnics and thus preventing tragedies on Christmas night.
Roberto Cruz, Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento, stated that to date nearly 18 people have been injured by fireworks explosions, which have left at least two victims mutilated. Several minors are among those affected.
In view of this, it is necessary to regulate the use of pyrotechnic products at events where crowds gather, since at the closing of the patron-saint festivities in Quezaltepeque, more than 40 people were burned during the procession of the famous painted bull, which charges at attendees.
For Christmas night, Comandos de Salvamento will maintain ambulances at strategic and forward locations to respond more promptly to emergencies that may arise on Christmas Eve.
In case of emergency, you can call (503) 2133-00000 or 911.
