The volunteers were vaccinated because they are exposed to danger daily.

Comandos de Salvamento rescuers were vaccinated this morning against influenza as a preventive measure for their volunteers, who are exposed day after day, especially during this emergency caused by the rains.

In addition to being on the front line, the volunteers are keeping their branches on alert due to the storm system affecting the country, which has already left at least 15 people dead and thousands of victims throughout the national territory.

Despite the limitations faced by Comandos de Salvamento, including their units and the lack of work tools in the event of people buried under debris, they are making every effort to rescue either alive or the bodies of people who have been trapped beneath landslides.

Comandos de Salvamento is maintaining its alert system in anticipation of the arrival of a new rainy system that will affect El Salvador again beginning Thursday and could last until Sunday.

Therefore, people residing in vulnerable areas are urged to seek the shelters made available by the Government and not wait until the last minute, putting the lives of their loved ones at risk; the best option is to seek immediate help.

Volunteer prevention is paramount for Comandos de Salvamento.
