During the past weekend Comandos de Salvamento assisted a person trapped in a traffic accident.

Comandos de Salvamento, a first-response organization, has increased its services in recent days due to the rising number of traffic accidents despite the quarantine and the fact that bus and minibus service has still not resumed.
In recent hours, a series of road accidents have been attended to, including the one that occurred at kilometer 12 of Carretera de Oro, where the driver of a minibus identified as Danilo Laínez, 38, had gotten out of his vehicle due to possible mechanical problems when he was struck by a pickup truck, causing his instantaneous death.
Comandos de Salvamento arrived at the scene of the tragedy, where it also assisted three other people who suffered serious injuries. Among them was a woman who was the passenger in the pickup truck; she was taken to a medical facility, while the other two people were assisted at the scene.
Statistics from the Vice Ministry of Transport show that during July, 980 accidents were reported, leaving 56 people dead and 546 injured in the road accidents.
It should be noted that lane invasion is the leading cause of traffic accidents, followed by failure to obey traffic signs and distracted driving.
Comandos de Salvamento has recommended on many occasions that the speed limit be respected and that people drive without the effects of alcohol, since these are the reasons that have brought mourning to Salvadoran families.
