Several communities in the eastern part of the country were affected by the rains.

The Executive Directorate of Comandos de Salvamento has issued orders to the delegations so that their personnel remain on alert for possible impacts that Tropical Storm Nana may cause as it moves through the Atlantic Ocean.

Roberto Cruz, Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento, was notified by the General Directorate of Protección Civil about the progress of Tropical Storm Nana, which is moving near Jamaica at a speed of 32 kilometers per hour, threatening to become a cyclone in the last few hours.

The nationwide green alert issued by Protección Civil is due to moisture saturation and the fragility of the soil resulting from the constant rains that have affected the country in recent days.

In response, first-response organizations such as Comandos de Salvamento, Cruz Verde, Cruz Roja, Bomberos, the Policía and the Army have activated their protocols, because in the coming hours we could experience the effects of rains generated by Tropical Storm Nana, which will affect several countries in the Central American region.

Comandos de Salvamento recommends that residents of vulnerable communities and population centers remain alert and heed the calls of organizations that safeguard security and life.
