Comandos de Salvamento and the Municipal Commission of Protección Civil of Chinameca inspected the high area of Volcán Chaparrastique in San Miguel, in case of any danger.
The Executive Directorate of Comandos de Salvamento has issued the red alert notice decreed by Protección Civil due to the arrival of Hurricane Eta, which has already begun to leave victims.
Eta is rapidly advancing toward the Central American region after becoming a Category 5 hurricane, before making landfall in Nicaragua early this morning. In Bonanza, 720 people have already been affected by the powerful hurricane.
In response, Comandos de Salvamento has begun calling on its volunteers to remain on alert at each of its delegations so they can respond to any phenomenon that may occur because of the rains generated by the effects of Hurricane Eta.
Rescuers with their Trepi rescue equipment are already ready to enter areas that may be affected by Eta. El Salvador has several vulnerable areas, so the population has been asked to remain alert for falling earth, landslides, and rising rivers and ravines.
Comandos de Salvamento, which is part of the Municipal Commissions of Protección Civil, has already begun a series of meetings to identify the shelters that can be enabled in each municipality.
Comandos de Salvamento asks the population to remain alert and, in the event of an emergency, to call 2133-0000 or 911.
