Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador conducted a fireworks-burning simulation today, with the aim of raising public awareness about the handling of pyrotechnic products that have been part of the traditional Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.

Comandos de Salvamento, which is launching its emergency plan, called “yorespondo2020,” is making 2,200 volunteers available to the Salvadoran people. They will provide services nationwide at their respective stations, along with 45 ambulances and 6 rescue units equipped with hydraulic equipment for road accidents in which people are trapped.

It is worth mentioning that Comandos de Salvamento will have advanced units in strategic areas to provide a prompt response to emergencies on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Additionally, on the 25th and January 1, ambulances will be stationed on the country’s main highways to respond to traffic accidents.

Comandos de Salvamento makes a special appeal to parents to remain vigilant over their minor children when they burn fireworks, in order to prevent tragedies, since Article 199 of the Penal Code provides for three years in prison if children are burned due to parental negligence.

In case of emergency, call 2133-0000 or 911.
