José Ernesto Ramos Sabrían during the celebration of the 60th anniversary.

José Ernesto Ramos Sabrían, the most veteran Comando de Salvamento, teacher of generations of lifeguards and rescuers with more than 45 years of voluntary service, died during the night between December 22 and 23 at his home in Soyapango, the family reported.

Ramos worked in emergencies beginning with Hurricane Fifi, storms, earthquakes, and the Montebello landslide. He was a member of the Board of Directors on repeated occasions, brigade chief, and chief instructor. During the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Comandos de Salvamento last September 30, a small tribute was held for him, during which he was presented with a jacket bearing the emblems of all the specialties in which a Comandos de Salvamento member is trained, including Emergency Medical Technician, Vertical Rescue, Vehicle Rescue, Trepi Rescue, Collapsed Structure Rescue, Aquatic Rescue, and Sea Rescue, in which he was a specialist.

The Press Department, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Directorate regret the death of such a valuable member and wish that he may enjoy heavenly mercy. CS 60 YEARS #AliviandoElDolorAjeno
