Comandos de Salvamento and other rescue agencies assist at the incident.

Around ten in the morning, an alert was received about a fire at the San Miguelito Market facilities in San Salvador. Units from Comandos de Salvamento were the first to arrive at the scene to help with the evacuation and safety of users.

The flames quickly spread through the bazaar sector, which was completely consumed. By the time Units from the Cuerpo de Bomberos arrived, the fire had already reached a significant size, and support from ANDA water tankers and the San Salvador Mayor’s Office was necessary to control the flames and prevent them from spreading to the market’s other sectors.

Members of the Comandos de Salvamento Rescue Unit were assigned to wet down the areas to prevent the fire from gaining strength again, while Bomberos fought the blaze inside the shopping center.

Helicopters from the Salvadoran Air Force provided support by dropping water from the air to control the fire. Inside the market, there is a great deal of material feeding the flames, which has made the work of Bomberos and the rescue agencies difficult.

Educational centers and businesses adjacent to the incident area evacuated their personnel to avoid any complications.

Everyone united to control the fire at San Miguelito Market.
The fire starts at the Market around 10 in the morning.
