Around noon, units of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador were alerted about a fire at one of the plastics warehouses located along Bulevar del Ejército, at the height of Ilopango.

Responders from Comandos de Salvamento are collaborating with the Cuerpo de Bomberos to extinguish the flames consuming finished products stored in a warehouse of the store where plastic products are distributed.

Until around two-thirty in the afternoon, efforts to control the flames continued due to the combustible material, which made the work of the Bomberos personnel difficult; they were supported with ANDA tankers.

Responders from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Policía Nacional Civil, the Army, and other rescue organizations are working in the operation to try to control the incident.

A young responder from Comandos de Salvamento walks among the debris.
