SHARK HAS LEFT US

This post is also available in: Spanish Norwegian Bokmål French Chinese (Simplified) Japanese

Carlos Chavez, a veteran comando from the 1980s and 1990s, died in the United States, according to his family. For many years, Carlos was one of the best lifeguards of Comandos de Salvamento, also standing out in service to others as a rescuer. Because of his agility in swimming, he was nicknamed “shark.”
He stood out in the work carried out by comandos during the 1980s; he recovered victims of the Montebello mudslide, was a photographer and cameraman for Televisión Educativa, and possibly the first photographer of the Instituto de Medicinal Legal de El Salvador. He migrated to the United States in search of the “American dream” and remained in that country until recently, when death surprised him.
At Comandos de Salvamento, we will remember him as a kind person, always smiling and willing to serve. That was always his personality.
