Early this morning, three women lost their lives when their home caught fire; the family’s dog also died.

The incident occurred on 12th Avenida Norte near Mercado Dueñas in Santa Tecla. The home was completely consumed by the fire, and the bodies of Cleotilde Suria Guevara, 94, Sandra Patricia Suria, 48, and Ruth Elizabeth Suria, 19, were found. The cause of the blaze remains unknown.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador went to the scene of the tragedy to assist the Cuerpo de Bomberos Nacionales in extinguishing the flames that destroyed the Suria family’s home and a mechanical workshop.

Volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador recovered the bodies so they could be identified by judicial authorities, as well as a puppy that was also a victim of the blaze.
