The Board of Directors and Executive Directorate of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador announced the conclusion of their “For a Safe Summer 2023” Rescue Operation, which began last Sunday, April 2, and ends today, with nearly one thousand volunteers participating nationwide.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador assigned personnel to the various beaches, recreational sites, tourist centers, religious events, and roads, where first-hand assistance was provided to people who suffered an accident.
It is worth mentioning that traffic accidents stand out, with three fatalities recorded, as well as more than one hundred injured people who were admitted to different healthcare centers in the country.
Also, lifeguards assigned to the main beaches along the Pacific Coast carried out more than 70 rescues, both simple and deep-water rescues. The deaths of 4 people are mourned, including the three victims of Lake Coatepeque, where former Minister of Agriculture Antonio Cabrales and two of his employees died.
The rescuers assigned to the beaches provided a series of pre-hospital treatments; some were treated on an outpatient basis, while others had to be taken to hospitals.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador wishes to thank Cooperativa CACTIUSA de R.L. for donating shirts for the young volunteers; the company Econored, with its Big agua, Deporade, and Jugo Bio Amayu brands; Global Alimentos; Sopas Laky; and the kind-hearted people who came to the emergency posts to share food with the rescuers.
