On the second day, the Doctors of the Americas traveled to the town of San Juan Tepezontes, where hundreds of people had been waiting to receive medical care since the early hours.
Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador transported the health professionals to San Juan Tepezontes, where women, elderly people, and children from the various cantons and hamlet of that Municipio were attended to.
Doctors of the Americas, physicians from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, and doctors from the town’s Health Unit joined efforts to provide assistance to the patients, who were also given medication free of charge.
Stephanie Badulak, a woman who began the medical campaign alongside her husband, Dr. Andrew Badulak, said the campaign has visited the country for 19 years. She is also responsible for providing clothing to patients who complete their consultations.
Alongside them, a contingent of 31 members of the Doctors of the Americas combine their knowledge to attend to hundreds of people with limited financial resources so they can be examined by physicians from the United States of America.
On Monday, the Doctors of the Americas are scheduled to visit the Municipio of Alegría, in the Departamento of Usulután, where people from several nearby communities are expected to arrive.
