Health Units throughout the country have begun a series of fumigation campaigns to eradicate the Aedes Aegypti mosquito that transmits the disease. Therefore, volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento in El Salvador and Protección Civil have joined the fight against the mosquito.
Comandos de Salvamento in El Salvador, Chinameca branch, began fumigation efforts very early this Friday in Barrio El Calvario and Cantón Zaragoza, where the activity is expected to reach more than 350 homes.
In addition to fighting the mosquito, abate is being distributed so that the larvae can be destroyed, as the area is being cleared of containers and tires that could collect rainwater and create breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Comandos de Salvamento in El Salvador has instructed its delegates to provide the necessary support to Public Health authorities in joining the fight against the mosquito that transmits dengue.
