This post is also available in:

37 years ago, when the clock showed ten minutes to twelve, a powerful earthquake shook the national territory, causing thousands of human and material losses.
One of the most affected places was the Rubén Darío Building and Santa Catalina School in Barrio San Jacinto, where many lives were lost.
However, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador sprang into action, deploying their volunteers to the most affected areas to search for and rescue victims.
Today, 37 years after the fateful earthquake, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador brought a floral offering to the area where the Rubén Darío Building stood to commemorate the thousands of people who passed away that day.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, in recent years, has provided a series of training sessions to its personnel so that they are knowledgeable about evacuation, rescue, and search tasks in the event of earthquakes.
This year, there was seismic activity in Ahuachapán and other areas, which Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador monitored and in which it provided assistance to the population that was affected in some way.
In addition, the authorities of Protección Civil continue conducting a series of drills at Educational Centers and Government entities, with the aim of providing training for emergencies and safely evacuating the facilities.
