The rains that have affected the country in recent hours have already caused damage to at least two homes in one of the communities of Sensuntepeque, Cabañas, where members of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador arrived to assess the damage.

The incident occurred in the Los Montesitos and Wachina passageways, in Colonia Las Brisas, where a landslide left by a construction company caused damage to the homes of Ms. Rosi Abarca and María Mendoza.

So far, no personal injuries have been reported, only material damage.

Authorities from the National Observatory of the Environment and Natural Resources indicate that the rains could intensify for another 24 hours due to a tropical wave that is about to reach Nicaragua and could affect the country for several days of the week as it moves, mainly affecting the coastal and volcanic areas.

Therefore, the general population is urged to remain alert to the arrival of the rains and stay away from areas that pose a danger.

Roberto Cruz, Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, called on delegates from its branches to keep emergency personnel on duty in the coming hours.

At least two homes were affected by the landslide in Colonia Las Brisas.
