Children, women, and elderly people were taken to the shelter at the Community Center of Colonia IVU in Acajutla.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador from the Sonsonate branch, together with Protección Civil, Bomberos, the Red Cross, and the army, managed to evacuate 13 families who were affected in Comunidad La Cocotera, Acajutla, Sonsonate Este.

Around sixty people, including older adults, women, and children, were evacuated as a preventive measure because they live in vulnerable areas. They were taken to the Community Center of Colonia IVU in Acajutla, where Protección Civil authorities had already set up a shelter to receive those affected.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador remains on orange alert due to the constant rains affecting the national territory, stated Comandos Executive Director Roberto Cruz.

We are ready to respond to any emergency, such as the one that occurred in the morning at a humble home in Cantón San José de la Montaña, where the roof gave way due to the constant rains, affecting Mr. Manuel Vásquez and Mrs. Carlota Vásquez, who was taken to the FOSALUD Unit for a medical evaluation.

However, after providing her with a general checkup, health professionals gave her medication so she could return to her family, since there was no indication that could complicate her health.

In Colonia San Rey in Zacatecoluca, the winds accompanying the rain knocked down an electrical utility pole, leaving the area without service.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador also helped clear tree branches that had been knocked down by the winds in Colonia Nueva Israel, District of San Juan Opico. In addition, damage is being assessed at three homes that were flooded in Final de 7ª. Calle, Lotificación Brisas de San Andrés, District of San Juan Opico.

The Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, Roberto Cruz, asked his delegates to summon their personnel, as the rains could intensify in the coming hours and landslides and river overflows could occur due to the storms that have affected the national territory.
