There was a haircut. The Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador joined forces with the organization Atrare, an Association Transforming Realities, and yesterday they hosted a celebration for hundreds of young rescuers from all the delegations.

Ivette Majano, Executive and Leadership Director of the organization Atrare, sought out the leadership of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador to provide a morning of recreation for the young rescuers who put their lives at risk during the emergencies our country faces.

During the recent emergencies caused by the rain, we at Comandos were present day after day, 24 hours a day, responding to calls in all our delegations. For that reason, I want to thank each volunteer for that great effort and spirit of service, said Roberto Cruz, Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.

During the activity, televisions, coffee makers, blenders, irons, and surprise items were raffled off for the heroes in yellow, who were accompanied by their children.

Delmy Aracely Ayala, a 23-year-old woman, is a rescuer who belongs to the Guazapa Delegation. She brought her little daughter Jade Izel Galán Ayala, 15 months old, because during her shifts at the station, she sometimes brings her baby so she can fulfill her volunteer service.

Like her, there are many mothers who leave their children in the care of a family member so they can respond to emergencies in their communities. That great spirit of service and love for others characterizes the anonymous heroes of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.

For that reason, the Board of Directors and Executive Directorate of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador thank the Atrare Organization, through its Executive Director Ivette Majano, for the celebration held for our volunteers.
