Members of the Cuerpo de Bomberos wearing special suits wait to enter the shopping center.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador assisted several people on Monday afternoon who were affected by inhaling a toxic substance inside a shopping center located across from Hula Hula Market, in the Historic Center of San Salvador.

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, using masks, managed to enter the shopping center to evacuate the victims, who were experiencing a series of symptoms, making it necessary to take them to medical facilities.

Comandos de Salvamento, the Red Cross, and members of the Medical Emergency System remained in the area while experts from the Cuerpo de Bomberos inspected the area to rule out any greater danger.

However, the shopping center was closed to prevent further complications, and passage through the area was restricted by the authorities.

Volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador rescue one of the intoxicated people.
National firefighters inspect the area.
