Roberto Cruz, executive director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, presents recognition to a young first responder.

17 young people from the Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador branches in Apopa and Guazapa successfully completed the Pre-Hospital Care course in order to provide better care during emergencies.

The volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de Apopa and Guazapa received training on infectious diseases, the proper methods for moving and transporting patients, and the administration of oxygen therapy.

They also learned about wounds, hemorrhages and trauma in patients, burns, how to act in cases of poisoning, among other topics that strengthen each volunteer’s knowledge.

The executive director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Roberto Cruz, delivered the closing remarks for the course, congratulating each of the young volunteers for their effort in acquiring greater knowledge.

It should be added that this training is carried out with the efforts and funding provided by Norwegian Popular Aid, APN, so that first responders can receive ongoing training.

A female first responder from Guazapa received her diploma.
Neftaly Lobo, Apopa Delegate, presents the diploma to one of the participants.
