Instructors share their knowledge with aspiring rescuers.

More than 30 young volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, who are participating in the vertical rescue course, practiced knots and anchors for ascents and descents as part of their training.

The rescuers, who come from the different delegations, arrive on Friday afternoons to begin their theoretical and practical classes that same evening.

They complete their learning cycle each weekend, where they learn about personal safety to avoid any mishap when carrying out an actual rescue; therefore, it is very necessary for them to have the equipment to safeguard their lives.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador regularly provides courses to its volunteers, thanks to funding from Norwegian Popular Aid, APN, which provides the funds to offer the training.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, through its executive director, Roberto Cruz, states that it is very necessary for each young person to acquire knowledge so that they can take it back to their delegation and teach their colleagues themselves.

The Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador is committed to continuing to secure the necessary funds and, in this way, ensuring the courses that are important given the new advances in the field of pre-hospital care, as well as vertical and vehicular rescue.

Personal safety equipment is acquired thanks to APN funding.
Young people receive anchor training to carry out rescues.
