Last Friday, March 21, Mario Mulato, delegate of the Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador section, was heading to carry out procedures at the Social Security offices in San Salvador.
However, fate dealt him a bad hand. As he boarded public transportation on Bulevar Federal de Alemania near Calle 5 de Noviembre, Mulato lost his balance while boarding the minibus and fell onto the roadway.
Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador and Municipal Protección Civil, where he worked, arrived to assist him and stabilize him. He was immediately taken to the Social Security facility in Colonia Atlacat.
Minutes later, Mario Mulato was referred to the General Hospital of the General Social Security system, with a guarded clinical condition from which he has still not recovered to date. He has already suffered two respiratory arrests, from which doctors have managed to revive him and keep him alive thanks to the equipment assigned to him.
Mario Mulato, who has been part of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador for more than a decade, has maintained a great spirit of service to others. Since his youth, he was part of the volunteers of the Salvadoran Red Cross, and he is now also part of Municipal Protección Civil.
He has devoted part of his time, body and soul, to humanitarian service with the young people of the Comandos de Salvamento section in San Martín, where he has been entrusted with directing this delegation.
Mario Mulato now faces a struggle between life and death. However, the executive leadership and Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador will hold a vigil this Thursday, March 27, to pray for Mulato’s speedy recovery.
The vigil will be held at the facilities of the central headquarters of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, located on 9th Calle Oriente and 16th Avenida Norte, Pasaje Letona #834, in San Salvador, two blocks east of Centenario Park, beginning at six in the evening. Pastor Manuel de Jesús Guzmán, Pastor David Borja (known as the Pastor of the Calle) from Taber, among others, will participate.
