The torrential rains caused by Tropical Storm Erick caused damage in some parts of the country. Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador responded to assist people affected by the flooding.

Comunidad El Granjero was affected by flooding, so Comandos de Salvamento and Protección Civil authorities arrived to assess the situation of the affected families. There were no evacuations.

In Villa Lourdes, the waters damaged the bridge connecting the area, suspending vehicle access to the homes. No personal injuries were reported.

In the eastern area, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador removed several trees that were knocked down by gusts of wind. Comandos rescue brigades therefore removed the trees and cleared the roads.

For this Tuesday, the executive director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Roberto Cruz, asked his delegates not to let their guard down when responding to emergencies that may occur in the coming hours under the Yellow Alert declared by Protección Civil authorities, since rains will continue due to the convergence zone of Tropical Storm Erick.

Erick could strengthen in the coming hours, according to authorities from the Meteorological Observatory, potentially reaching hurricane status this Wednesday and generating more rain in the country.
