This post is also available in: Spanish Norwegian Bokmål French Chinese (Simplified) Japanese

Two women narrowly escaped death when a tree fell onto their car at kilometer 36 of the Pan-American Highway in Ciudad Arce.

The rains of recent days have caused several trees to fall across the country, due to the gusts of wind accompanying the rains.

Vertical Rescue Units of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador have participated in clearing trees that collapse during storms, causing damage to infrastructure or obstructing thoroughfares.

One of the incidents that left people injured occurred when a tree fell onto a vehicle traveling along kilometer 36 of the Pan-American Highway near Ciudad Arce.

The two women traveling in the car were assisted and treated by Comandos de Salvamento de Ciudad Arce.

Meanwhile, volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de Apopa responded to a family’s call after they were threatened by a tree falling onto their home located in Ciudad Futura, phase 1.19, house #5.

On Saturday night, a large tree fell and obstructed the road connecting Berlín to the town of Alegría, where Comandos de Salvamento in the area carried out the clearing work and reopened the Calle.

In Colonia La Rábida in San Salvador, another tree obstructed one of the streets in the residential area. Meanwhile, Comandos de Salvamento and its vertical rescue unit removed a tree that fell in Colonia San Antonio, in Cuscatancingo.

In response, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador is asking companies or altruistic individuals to donate chainsaws to carry out effective work for the benefit of the communities. To make a donation, call 2133-0000.

Victims were treated by Comandos de Salvamento.
