Rafael Polanco, one of the volunteers of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, who for many years provided assistance during emergencies, passed away tonight after suffering a series of health complications.

Polanco, who in his final years served as the night radio operator at Comandos de Salvamento, dispatched the units in response to the constant emergency calls requested by the public.

For many years, Rafael Polanco worked as a waiter at private events, and at night he dedicated himself to attending the radio room, where he spent many nights assisting the Salvadoran population.

Now, with profound sorrow, the Board of Directors and executive director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador offer a prayer for the soul of our remembered colleague and friend, Rafael Polanco.
