Members of the General Directorate of Protección Civil, Comandos de Salvamento and other entities assessed damage to homes.

The executive director of Comandos de Salvamento and representatives of the western-zone delegations were part of the assessment team at homes affected by the earthquakes in San Lorenzo, Ahuachapán.

The Municipal Commission of Protección Civil, Comandos de Salvamento, the Red Cross, a member of the Policía Nacional Civil, the army and the General Directorate of Protección Civil verified the damage caused by the seismic movements in recent hours, which have been concentrated in the San Lorenzo area.

As of this afternoon, the assessment teams have reported damage to nearly 200 homes, 124 of which have structural damage. However, the rest have been declared uninhabitable due to cracks in the walls and parts of the perimeter walls.

It is worth mentioning that the earthquakes continue in the area near the Guatemalan border, where a strong movement occurred in Jutiapa last Tuesday, resulting in two deaths and houses being destroyed.

Comandos de Salvamento, through its executive director, Roberto Cruz, says that personal hygiene kits, medicines and food are needed for the families who have lost their homes.

Therefore, private companies and altruistic individuals are asked to approach Comandos de Salvamento to help collect the aid and have it delivered immediately to those affected.

Houses show serious damage to their infrastructure.
