Young people carry out rescue practices.

Vertical Rescue instructors from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador conducted practical exercises with students from the “Yolanda Elizabeth Ramírez” Comandos School, where young volunteers are preparing to graduate as new rescuers.

The now-rescuers carried out their final exercises on the Golden Highway bridge, at the Apopa overpass, where they practiced descents with victims, as well as learning about each instrument used for the safety of both the rescuer and the patient.

In addition, instructors and collaborators supervise their students to ensure they promptly complete the training, as well as the placement of their carabiners, figure eights, and other safety equipment.

The new rescuers have had to overcome physical, theoretical, and practical tests in order to become part of the select vertical rescue team.

It is worth mentioning that there are nearly ten young women in this group who have demonstrated their courage and effort to advance through each of the demanding tests and thus overcome their fear of heights and precipices.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador constantly trains its personnel in different courses, thanks to funding from Norwegian Popular Aid, APN.
