On Sunday afternoon, 25 young people from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador obtained their certificates accrediting them as new members of the Vertical Rescue Unit, thanks to funding from Norwegian People’s Aid, APN.
The rescuers passed physical and theoretical tests in order to become part of this specialized unit of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador. Ten young women were part of this new training group.
Despite the demanding physical tests, the women once again demonstrated that they are not the weaker sex, as every weekend they managed to overcome each obstacle, including physical training by running more than 10 kilometers every Saturday and Sunday morning.
As well as the various knots and knowledge of each instrument that provides safety to both the rescuer and the victim.
Many times I thought about abandoning this course, but I believe God gave me the strength necessary to make it through graduation, and I am happy, says Daniela Leiva.
The team of instructors and collaborators led by Jhony Ramos once again received thanks from the members of the Board of Directors and Executive Management of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.
