On October 31, 2025, as part of its 50th anniversary of work in the country, World Vision (Visión Mundial) presented the “Estrellas por la Niñez 2025” recognition to its strategic partner, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, in an emotional ceremony held last Thursday evening.
The award highlights the extensive and committed humanitarian work carried out by Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, especially in joint missions aimed at the most vulnerable population and Salvadoran children. Cleaning kits and supermarket vouchers ranging from $200 to $300 were distributed, and in other places survival nurseries, as in the case of San Lorenzo, which suffered a seismic swarm.
The award was presented by Roberto Villacorta, World Vision country director, who highlighted the value of the alliance. “Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador is a fundamental partner that works together with World Vision, identifying the needs of communities. It is through the projects we develop and the invaluable support of Comandos that kits and first-hand assistance are delivered,” to low-income families, Villacorta stated.
This recognition is the result of the daily work carried out by Comandos de Salvamento in partnership with Visión Mundial, focused on providing care and delivering aid to families at risk. The rescue institution thanked the effort and dedication of its operational delegations that make this mission possible, including: Tepecoyo, Sacacoyo, El Congo, Santa Ana, Juayúa, Sonsonate, Sensuntepeque, Tecoluca, and Zacatecoluca.
New delegations joining the effort: Chinameca, Alegría, Jucuapa, and Berlín. Roberto Cruz, executive director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, expressed his gratitude:
“Receiving the ‘Estrellas por la Niñez’ award during World Vision’s 50th anniversary is an immense honor. This award is a testament to the great work we do in missions to protect and serve the most vulnerable population. We thank our board of directors for its constant support and each of our volunteers who dedicate their lives to this cause.”
The alliance between both organizations continues to grow stronger through their shared vision of improving the living conditions of children and communities in El Salvador.
