FIRE AT MEGA PLAZA SONSONATE

Tonight, a voracious fire consumed more than ten stalls installed inside the Mega Plaza in Sonsonate.

Through the prompt intervention of the Cuerpo de Bomberos Nacionales, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Sonsonate chapter, Policía Nacional Civil, the army, and other emergency-response agencies, the advance of the flames to other premises was quickly brought under control.

For more than an hour, volunteers and firefighters battled to put out the flames, which left extensive material losses. Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador reported that there were no personal injuries, thanks to the security perimeter established by the authorities so that the fire could be brought under control in a timely manner.

Authorities from the Cuerpo de Bomberos are expected to determine the causes of the incident.
