Early this morning, a voracious fire consumed several homes located on 6.ª Avenida Sur, two blocks south of Parque Libertad, in the Historic Center of the Salvadoran capital.
Responders from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador worked with the Cuerpo de Bomberos Nacionales, who arrived to extinguish the flames that trapped families inside the structure, which suddenly caught fire.
Families managed to reach safety; however, four adults and one minor were trapped by the flames that devastated the homes.
A pregnant young woman sustained injuries and was assisted and taken to a medical center for recovery.
The fire affected several businesses and homes due to the sheet-metal and wooden infrastructure that fueled the flames.
