At around two in the morning, residents of a home located alongside the Carretera Troncal del Norte, in the direction from San Salvador to Apopa, were startled by the crash as a garbage collection truck entered the home, destroying part of the house.

Eight people were affected by this incident, including municipal workers, so rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Apopa branch, stabilized the victims.

According to one account, the driver of the solid-waste collection truck lost control of the vehicle, veered off the roadside, and fell into a small ravine, entering the home.

Comandos de Salvamento de Apopa stabilized victims alongside other emergency-response agencies to transport the patients to San Bartolo Hospital, in Ilopango.
