Last weekend, nearly 80 young people from the various Comandos de Salvamento branches in El Salvador took part in the Cooper test held on the field at the Central Headquarters of the Cuerpo de Bomberos de El Salvador.

Of the 80 Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador members, some will be selected to take part in training sessions provided by international and national experts on weekends.

The applicants underwent psychological and medical tests to join the new Light USAR group.

The 50 rescuers hope to join the Light USAR group, which will be trained to respond to natural disasters such as earthquakes and landslides.

The training is funded by Norwegian People’s Aid, APN, which seeks to ensure that rescuers have the best knowledge and preparation to respond to emergencies occurring nationwide.
