Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador will mark its 66th anniversary and will therefore hold a grand parade this Saturday, September 26. It will depart from Parque Cuscatlán in San Salvador and proceed to a ceremony in the auditorium of the Ministry of Governance, at the Government Center.
Comandos de Salvamento is strengthening its ties with members of the International World Fire Academy, based in New York, with whom it has already carried out various training and cooperation activities.
A delegation of members of the World Fire Academy, led by Lieutenant General Juan Gutiérrez and Ramona Torres, arrived along with thirteen others to take part in the grand parade and protocol ceremony.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, a nonprofit humanitarian service organization, has participated throughout its years of existence in earthquake and landslide rescue operations, including the Montebello landslide, as well as hurricane and traffic-accident responses.
With its 33 branches, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador has more than two thousand young volunteers nationwide and expects to open the San Miguel branch in the eastern part of the country within a few days.
