Beautiful Albert Camus baton twirlers accompanied the parade.
With a festive parade accompanied by the Albert Camus educational center’s peace band, as well as the Sacacoyo district band and the artistic gymnastics group from the National Institute of Santa Ana, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador traveled along several arteries of the Salvadoran capital announcing their 65th founding anniversary.
Rescuers from the 32 Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador chapters arrived at Calle Rubén Darío to begin the colorful parade alongside their floats, where the chapter queens tossed candy to passersby who applauded the work these hundreds of young people carry out during emergencies, being the first to arrive.
Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador is a nonprofit organization that responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, in traffic accidents and where dangers caused by nature exist, such as hurricanes, storms, and landslides.
It also provides assistance to people with any type of illness, who are attended to by the 32 chapters.
During the ceremony, members of the World Firefighters Academy of New York handed over the keys to a Type A ambulance, which will now be available to the Salvadoran people, thanks to contributions from firefighters and Norwegian Popular Aid APN.
