Carlos Vásquez teaches the new applicants for vehicle rescue.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador began the new training cycle on Friday night, starting with the Vehicle Rescue course, where 28 young rescuers managed to pass the physical tests to which they were subjected.

The trainers are highly qualified personnel with knowledge of the emergency system for rescuing victims of traffic accidents, in which people become trapped and hydraulic equipment must be used to free them.

For more than three months, the rescuers will have to meet on weekends, beginning in the early hours with exercise practices to build the endurance and strength needed to operate the hydraulic equipment used to free victims in road accidents.

In addition to the theoretical and practical classes they must take throughout the course. It is worth mentioning that nine young women who managed to pass the test to join the select group of rescuers have been included in this new training program.

Young women between 17 and 25 years old who will have to summon strength in the face of the demanding practices that form part of the training.

The Board of Directors and executive management of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador specially thank Norwegian People’s Aid, APN, which sponsors these training programs and thus makes it possible to have qualified personnel in the various areas for rescuing people in case of danger.
