This afternoon, the ambulances of Comandos de Salvamento traveled to 20ª. Avenida Norte and Alameda Juan Pablo II, in San Salvador, where a man in an apparent state of drunkenness stabbed a man, causing an injury to his thorax.
The rescuers fought for several minutes, performing CPR on the victim with assistance from the Emergency Medical System, but despite their efforts, the approximately 45-year-old man died.
A new alert was received a few minutes later: another man had been attacked with a knife on 12ª. Avenida Sur and Calle Delgado. He was identified as José Ángel Díaz, 52, who had a bladed-weapon injury to the face and was taken to Hospital Rosales.
Minutes after the attack, the Policía Nacional Civil had arrested Moisés Acosta Lemus, 44, who is being held responsible for both bladed-weapon attacks.
