NEW TRAGEDY IN THE HISTORIC CENTER

This post is also available in: Spanish Norwegian Bokmål French Chinese (Simplified) Japanese

For the second time, another passerby has fallen into the underground wiring trench being built around Iglesia El Calvario in the Historic Center of San Salvador.

Rafael Antonio Domínguez Martínez, 63, was walking Thursday night along Calle 29 de agosto when he lost his balance and was left suspended among the rebar that had been placed in the trench being built for the underground wiring.

Rescuers managed to assist Rafael Antonio Domínguez Martínez, who, due to the trauma he sustained, was taken to the General Social Security Hospital as an emergency patient.

This is the second person to suffer a tragedy in this area, since last Monday a man fell into another of the underground wiring trenches, as the protective barriers provide no safety whatsoever for pedestrians.

Members of the Vertical Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador assist Rafael Antonio Domínguez Martínez.
