DRIVER CRASHES INTO TRAILER ON ORO HIGHWAY

Comandos de Salvamento assisted the driver of a truck this morning after he crashed into the rear of a trailer traveling from Apopa toward the eastern part of the country near Padros de Venecia, in Soyapango.

The traffic accident occurred at around ten in the morning when the trailer experienced brake-system failure, initially colliding with a sedan. The truck driver was unable to stop and crashed into the rear of the container.

Members of the Vehicle Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento and the Cuerpo de Bomberos used hydraulic equipment to free Roger Edilson Guevara, 26, who had become trapped among the twisted metal of the truck.

Minutes later, rescuers brought the truck driver to safety. He had injuries to his lower limbs and was taken to a nearby medical center.
