Early this morning, members of the Vehicle Rescue Unit and Pre-Hospital Care personnel from Comandos de Salvamento, worked for more than half an hour to free a passenger who had become trapped among the wreckage of the vehicle in which he was traveling with family and friends.
At three in the morning, the six people were returning after dropping off a family member at El Salvador International Airport when, upon reaching kilometer 23 of the road known as Comalapa, a tractor-trailer caused the driver to lose control of the microbus in which they were traveling, crashing into a tree in the center of the roadway.
Personnel from the Vehicle Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento used hydraulic equipment to free the young man Carlos Antonio López, who was traveling as the front-seat passenger. He was rescued and taken to Hospital Rosales in an emergency.
Meanwhile, the other injured people were identified as Luis Mario Martínez; Dalila Yamileth González; Gladys Pimentel; Silvia Vásquez and Mirna González, all suffering trauma to different parts of the body, and they were admitted to Hospital Zacamil, in Mejicanos.
