BUS COLLECTOR DIES AFTER BEING RUN OVER BY THE UNIT HE WORKED ON

This afternoon, rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Jucuapa branch, assisted a young man who worked as a collector on route 479, which runs from San Miguel to the Municipio of Jucuapa.

One version of this unfortunate incident is that the driver of the public transportation unit was apparently driving under the influence of alcohol, and upon reaching the main street of Cantón Zaragoza, near Chinameca, he did not see the speed bump, causing the young collector, who was riding at the front door, to lose his balance and fall a few meters in front of the unit, which ran him over.

The volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador in Jucuapa went to the scene of the accident, where they performed maneuvers to try to get the young collector to Nueva Guadalupe Hospital. However, a few meters before arriving, the victim lost his battle.

The deceased victim was identified as Antony Rodríguez Marín, 18, who lived in Barrio El Calvario in Chinameca.

The bus driver left the collector mortally wounded and continued driving the unit; however, he fell asleep a few blocks from the site of the tragedy.
