For more than an hour, efforts were made to extract the remains of Marvín Antonio Hernández García.

Members of the Vehicular Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador struggled for more than an hour to free the body of the driver of a vehicle that overturned on the road to San Julián, running over a 14-year-old minor who was traveling there at the time of the accident.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador identified the deceased victim as Marvin Antonio Hernández García, 25, who died instantly because the vehicle he was driving was reduced to scrap metal.

The minor, who suffered serious injuries after being struck when the car was rolling over, was identified as Gabriela Fernanda Ascencio, 14, and was initially taken to the San Julián Health Unit. However, due to the severity of her trauma, she was taken to Jorge Mazzini Hospital in Sonsonate.

Initial reports state that the driver of the vehicle was traveling at excessive speed and lost control of the car, causing it to overturn and resulting in his death.

The rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador struggled for more than an hour to recover the body, which was trapped among the twisted metal of the vehicle, which was left as scrap metal.

Judicial, prosecutorial, and police authorities arrived at the scene to identify the remains of Marvin Antonio Hernández García.
