THREE DEAD IN ACCIDENTS IN RECENT HOURS

Three people died in tragic traffic accidents in recent hours, in different parts of the country.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador reports that, among the traffic accidents that have left three people dead, one occurred early Saturday morning at kilometer 23 of the Troncal del Norte highway, where a pickup truck and a car collided head-on.

Two of the occupants—a man and a woman—of the pickup truck, who were traveling inside the vehicle’s cab, became trapped among the twisted metal and died minutes later, while an adult and a minor suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the car also suffered severe trauma and was taken to a medical center.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, with its Vehicle Rescue Unit, used hydraulic equipment to free the bodies of the pickup truck’s occupants so they could be handed over to Legal Medicine and judicial authorities.

Hours later, at kilometer 14 of the Carretera Troncal del Norte, a motorcyclist traveling from Apopa to Guazapa lost his life after crashing into a truck while attempting to overtake it.

The victim, who could not be identified, remained at the scene of the tragedy while authorities began their investigation and the body was taken to Legal Medicine.

The driver of a tractor-trailer lost control this morning at kilometer 20 of the Carretera Troncal del Norte. Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador went to the scene of the accident, where only property damage was reported, as the driver was unharmed.

In Ciudad Arce, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador assisted at a traffic accident involving a person who was riding a motorcycle and suffered several traumatic injuries; volunteers took him to a medical center.
