Volunteers train in emergency childbirth care.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador trained 32 of its volunteers and 3 members of Protección Civil in emergency childbirth and intravenous therapy, with the aim of being prepared for the Holy Week season.

The first responders underwent two days of training, during which theoretical and practical sessions were held under the instruction of healthcare professionals.

The activity was sponsored by Norwegian Popular Aid (APN), the Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, and private companies such as Pettenati de Centroamérica, Smelyn Portillo, and David Reyes.

In addition, the select group of instructors trained the volunteer first responders of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador and the members of the Municipal Protección Civil of Ciudad Arce, who made the most of the training and now have this knowledge to apply in the emergencies handled day after day.

Knowledge of childbirth care is vital at Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.
