WORKER DIES BURIED IN CIUDAD ARCE

A construction worker died buried and another suffered trauma to his lower limbs while they were carrying out earthmoving work in Cantón Santa Lucía 1ª. Zona de las Rejas, in Ciudad Arce, La Libertad.

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento, Ciudad Arce branch, arrived at the scene of the tragedy, where one of the workers, identified as Wilfredo Alexander Monrroy, 20, had died of asphyxiation due to the amount of earth that had buried him.

Meanwhile, Geovany Vladimir Aquino Blanco, 34, was rescued alive; however, he had suffered severe trauma to his lower limbs, so he was admitted to the Health Unit of that municipality.

The volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento initially tried to assist the young worker; however, his vital signs no longer responded. Therefore, he was left at the scene for the legally required examination.
