Businessman and politician José Luis Correa, of the House of Representatives of the California Congress, presented a special recognition to the members of the International Mission of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, based in Los Angeles, California.

A Delegation of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador presented credentials and authorization to former members of Comandos who now reside in the city of Los Angeles, with the aim of forming a group that will carry out activities to equip El Salvador with ambulances and rescue equipment.

In view of this, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador have once again been invited by representatives of the Central American Confederation, COFECA, to be responsible for leading the parade while carrying an enormous flag of El Salvador, commemorating the Independence of Central America.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, a humanitarian and emergency-response organization, has been recognized by several organizations for its outstanding work benefiting thousands of people with limited resources. This September 30, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador marks 62 years of providing free emergency services to the Salvadoran people.

These recognitions led the institution to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, receiving an honorable mention, as well as recognitions from the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador, the Presidency of the Republic of El Salvador, among others.

William Ruiz, representative of the International Mission of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, seeks for the former volunteers to now wear the emblem with dignity at this new event, which grants them the privilege of being the ones to lead the parade this Sunday the 18th in the city of Los Angeles, California.

La Prensa de Los Ángeles.com produced a report on Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador during the recent visit by a delegation of volunteers to that city.
