ONE DEAD AND ONE INJURED ON THE ROAD TO COMALAPA

The driver of a car that crashed early this morning, at around 3 a.m., near kilometer 14 of the highway from San Salvador to El Salvador International Airport, experienced moments of anguish.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Diego Cruz Vásquez, lost control of his car and crashed into a tree. He was accompanied by 27-year-old Jesús Isaai Vásquez Pérez, who lost his life in the traffic accident.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador provided assistance to extract the victims, who had been trapped among the vehicle’s twisted metal. For several minutes, members of the Comandos Rescue Unit used their hydraulic equipment at the scene to free the occupants and take one of them to a medical facility.

The rescuers managed to free the second victim so that the judicial authorities could identify him.
