Early this morning, specialized teams from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador worked to recover two bodies that had been trapped among the wreckage of the vehicle in which they were traveling when it crashed into a trailer that was parked along the roadside in Ciudad Versalles.

For several minutes, rescuers used hydraulic equipment to open the roof of the car. Gustavo Castillo, 29, who was traveling with his companion Ángel Guerra, 30, died instantly.

The incident occurred at around three in the morning on the road from Quezaltepeque to San Juan Opico, near Ciudad Versalles. The vehicle, driven by Gustavo Castillo, bore private license plate 937-525 and collided with the trailer, which had Panamanian plates and was parked along the roadside.
